Today is a great day. One of my best friends from High School celebrated her birthday today. We are 10 days apart in ages and born in different years. So today I start my blog with her.
I am so grateful for Shayna and the things that I have learned from her about frugality and health. I may not always have agreed with her about things but I have learned much from her through the 22 years that we have been friends. I am so glad that she is still in my life after all of these years.
I am also thankful for my other best friend from High School Kim. I love her tough girl attitude and tender heart. She has taught me about Courage, Strength, and Endurance. I am so thankful that we were able to put an old argument aside and continue to be friends in a miraculous way.
I am also grateful for working in my calling as the second counselor in the Young Women program. I love my association with my girls there and love being around other people my age who also have the chance to influence the next generation to make good choices.
I am also grateful for the privledge that I have to take care of my aging step-father. I am learning and seeing sides of him that I never knew existed. Sometimes he tries my patience beyond end with his dementia like symptoms but I always see the man and not the disease.
I am thankful for Sundays and they day of rest that they tend to be. I always feel rejuvenated and charged to fulfill my duties throughout the week. Sunday is my favorite day of the week. There is such a beautiful spirit about Sundays.
